Actor - Model - Writer

Johnny Gottsegen is, in essence, a firework with really good hair.

A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Johnny trained at the Meisner Studio, the Experimental Theatre Wing, and the Stonestreet screen acting studio. He has since performed both contemporary and classical theatre, with a particular focus on Shakespeare. (He is very passionate about Shakespeare.) Most recently, he brought his intensity and vibrance to two famous tricksters: The Winter’s Tale’s Autolycus, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream’s Puck.

In addition to his theatrical work, Johnny has acted in short films and web series ranging in genre from comedy realism to maximalist horror. Every new project is an opportunity to apply his specificity, drive, and sheer enthusiasm for collaborative creation. He has played characters both non-specifically male and explicitly transmasculine, and believes strongly in the importance of representing authentic queer experiences onscreen and onstage.
